The Russian Orthodox Church in Florence
Despite his young age (it opened in November 1903) thanks to its particular legacy. Today we can admire in its full splendour thanks to restoration works conducted by the Superintendence of Environmental and Architectural Heritage of Florence. Was Vladimir Levitsky, Rector of Russian communities from 1878 to 1922 in Florence, want strenuously the construction of this building. The entrance door was made of Walnut for the chapel of the Demidov, and was awarded the first prize at the Art Exhibition of 1860.
The Church enriches the cultural heritage of the city, while the life of the Orthodox community is an important element of the cultural and religious atmosphere of Florence.
